Suhman Crusher Line 220TPH in Mongolia

Release time:2026-06-27     Visits:4

A modular crushing production line built by the Chinese construction machinery brand Suhman has officially commenced operation in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia. Located in a remote mining area and specifically designed for crushing hard basalt, this production line has withstood the wind, sand, and extreme temperature variations of the Mongolian Gobi Desert. Furthermore, in competition with leading international brand PowerScreen, it won the client's deep recognition for its high cost-effectiveness and stable performance.

I. Project Background

Located in the heart of Mongolia, this project's primary task is to crush extremely hard basalt. Basalt, a type of igneous rock, is dense and extremely tough, with a Mohs hardness typically between 5 and 6 and a compressive strength reaching up to 350 MPa, making it one of the most difficult types of stone to process. The client requires the processing of large basalt blocks into stone powder, 5-20mm, 20-35mm, and mixed aggregates for local infrastructure construction and road paving.

Moreover, Mongolia's geographical environment is unique: extremely cold winters, huge temperature differences in summer, and rampant sandstorms. This requires equipment with not only excellent cold resistance but also a sophisticated wind and sand protection design; otherwise, prolonged exposure could lead to electrical malfunctions. Therefore, the customer was very concerned about these factors and didn't want the equipment to be at risk of downtime. Suhman addressed these concerns by adding cold-weather protection to the standard equipment, designing a sealed external frame for the exhaust system, and using negative pressure in the electrical system to prevent damage from wind and sand. The customer also emphasized that the work location remained almost unchanged, with approximately five million tons of stone stored there awaiting processing. Given the customer's previous concerns about the high cost of the crusher, we suggested and configured a modular system for easier transportation and maintenance, reducing the cost that the customer was concerned about without compromising production capacity. The customer was very satisfied with our solution, saying, "Thank you for considering my needs. Everyone used to advise me to buy the expensive one, but only you put yourself in my shoes."

II. Project Configuration: SE-J1060 + SY-JHP300 + SS-J6518

Based on the client's actual working conditions, Suhman provided a customized modular combination solution. Core equipment includes:

  1. SE-J1060 Jaw Crusher (Primary Crushing): As the vanguard of the production line, it is responsible for the primary crushing of large raw ore. Its deep cavity design and high speed ensure easy crushing even high-hardness basalt, providing a stable feed particle size of approximately 0-150mm for subsequent processes.

  2. SY-JHP300 Multi-cylinder Hydraulic Cone Crusher (Secondary Crushing): This is the "heart" of the entire production line. The HP300 is renowned for its layered crushing principle, capable of efficiently crushing basalt into regular cubic particles, effectively ensuring the particle shape quality of 5-20mm and 20-30mm finished aggregates, reducing needle-like and flaky content, and meeting high-grade building material standards.

  3. SS-J6518 Vibrating Screen: Responsible for precise grading. The three-layer screen design allows for the simultaneous production of up to four sizes of stone. This project simultaneously produces stone powder, 5-20mm small aggregates, and 20-35mm large aggregates, ensuring a complete range of finished product specifications for direct loading and sale.

Since its commissioning, this modular production line has maintained a continuous and stable capacity of 220 tons/hour. In the windy and sandy conditions of the Gobi Desert, the equipment operates smoothly, the hydraulic system responds sensitively, and the electrical system functions normally, fully verifying the reliability of Suhman equipment in extreme environments.

III. Choosing the Most Suitable Option

It is worth mentioning that the client had previously been using PowerScreen mobile crushing and screening systems from the internationally renowned manufacturer, consisting of four units. During long-term operation, the client acknowledged the excellent performance of PowerScreen equipment but also suffered from its high purchase and subsequent operating costs.

After partnering with Suhman, the client calculated the costs clearly:

Purchase Costs: The initial investment in Suhman's modular production line is significantly lower than that of imported brand equipment with equivalent capacity, greatly reducing the client's financial burden. The customer stated personally: "Including transportation and taxes, it cost a total of four million, while I previously spent over ten million. Initially, I was worried about your quality, thinking that a lower price would mean lower quality, but now I have no doubt. China truly deserves its reputation as an industrial powerhouse; they've managed to control costs and maintain quality so well."

Operating Expenditure (OPEX): This is where the customer's experience was most profound. In comparison, PowerScreen's wear parts are expensive and have longer lead times; downtime waiting for parts results in daily losses of thousands of dollars. Suhman, relying on China's strong supply chain, not only has affordable wear parts but also ample supply. The customer frankly stated: "Although PowerScreen's instantaneous peak output is slightly higher, considering Suhman's extremely low downtime risk and maintenance costs, Suhman's overall output efficiency and economic benefits are actually higher. Next time, I might choose a fully hydraulic system, as I think it would produce higher output than my current electrically driven equipment."

IV. Conclusion

The success of the Mongolian basalt project is not only a microcosm of Suhman's overseas expansion but also a testament to the competitiveness of Chinese construction machinery in the international market. This proves that "Made in China" has shifted from simple "low-price competition" to comprehensive competition based on "technology + service + cost-effectiveness."

I clearly remember a client, Dulagul, saying, "Before, we only looked at the brand when buying equipment; now we look at whether it can truly help me make money." We all acknowledge that higher-priced products certainly have advantages, but we really need to consider the overall picture and avoid blindly choosing. We should carefully calculate how to maximize profits before making a decision.

With the deepening of China's "Belt and Road" initiative, pragmatic and efficient Chinese equipment like Suhman will undoubtedly play an increasingly important role in global infrastructure construction and become the preferred partner for more overseas clients.
